[...] Today is Red Sox Day in Boston — a day to celebrate the World Series win. I went down to meet some of the fans lining the parade route. There were a whole lot of kids, tons of young adults and a goodly number of baby boomers in the crowd. The event is almost over, and there is still shouting in the streets. [...]

My mom and aunt are so excited - the possibility of seeing the Red Sox possibly win a second World Series in their lifetimes is just more than they ever expected!

I'm a reformed Red Sox fan (went over to the Dark Side - the Yankees - when the Sox lost to the Mets in '86; my husband is a Yankee fan). But now that the Yankees are out of the race, I can root wholeheartedly for my first baseball love, the Red Sox.

BTW, I have awarded you with an "Absolutely Fabulous Blogger" award on my blog! You can go pick it up here:

"Red Sox".... ummmm... baseball, right? I'd love to sit and listen to a conversation between you and Ruby. I'll bet I'd never get a word in edgewise.

Gotta love the Sox. The curse was vanquished three years ago, and now you don't have to worry like you did - they can take the lead and hold onto it. And the Sox did the right thing and have the best record in MLB, and get the home-field advantage through the World Series - Fenway favors them over other teams. GO SOX!
