Thanks for the tip. I'll have to pick u a copy while I'm out shivering to get some exercise today. I also gave up on it after the redo.

Maybe it's time to submit some articles to them.

Yes, Janet, I don't know when it changed back, but it did. The only thing is, the articles are terribly short. I don't like that.

Linda, I love your description of Mass. It is true. There is something very enchanting going on here.
Hattie, please send your used issues to Yankee to Linda.

I, too, am often enchanted, by New England. Mass. seems to hold a strong place in my heart - so filled with its history, culture and as I often think - a small state with everything - an ocean, a coastline and the awesome Berkshires. Close to my heart is the literary as I have loved to read since childhood. And yes, I admit to often visiting The House of Seven Gables website to view "the view"... as well as The Mount - home of Edith Wharton which is a visit to the other side of the State. The Mount now has a wonderful blog. And then there is the Alcott house where you can read a few of Ms. Alcott's wonderful writing. I could go on and on about the wonders of Mass. And yes, I do have a love for Vermont, NH, and Maine as well as CT. I do love CT which is home to Mystic Seaport - the town where I often wish I was a time traveler - and oops, forgot about the awesome Sturbridge Village in Mass!

And while I am giving serious consideration to a relo to NJ to a small area on the Delaware, my heart is prompting me to remember the stage of life I am in and to spend this time where my heart longs to be.

Yankee Magazine was interesting at one time (as the post accurately said) and I will check it out. Think our bookstore has it and as I have a new library etc. will check it out there. I would always rather have it in my hands than read online.

I just started reading a few things in Yankee Magazine and am quite intrigued.
There seems to be a tension between maintaining the local flavor of things while also going mainstream.

I grew up with Yankee magazine always being the house as my grandfather used to give my parents a subscription every year for Christmas - that and Reader's Digest. Unfortunately I can't afford to subscribe myself so I read it on-line and still enjoy everything that is so uniquely New England. I do wish I could afford the actual magazine, though!
