Remembering Amelia Earhart
When I was a kid, I was a tomboy. Naturally, women like pilot Amelia Earhart were among my heroes.
Today marks the 70th anniversary of the day Amelia Earhart was last heard from — July 2, 1937. She disappeared during her attempt to become the first woman to fly around the globe.
Earhart vanished just three weeks before her 40th birthday (July 24).
Earhart and her family have a connection to my area (Boston). In 1924, Earhart moved here to teach school in Medford, Mass. Her sister lived in Quincy, Mass.
Here’s a bunch of Amelia Earhart links.

Did you ever see the “In Search Of” episode on her? I loved that show. Creepy!

I didn’t know that she disappeared in July, I always thought it was later in the year. Learn something new everyday!
This is one of those things we’ll never know the answer to but will always speculate about.

I used to have an Amelia Earhart dolly. She was one of my heroes, too.
