Dogs That Walk Themselves
I got a dog last summer, and thanks to him I have met dozens of other dogs around my Boston neighborhood of Jamaica Plain.
For instance, there is:
Keller, the blind dog (named after Helen Keller) who responds to sign language
Dakota, the yellow lab who flunked out of guide-dog school
and Lulu the boxer who survived heartworm disease and lived to tell about it.
(Some of the dogs’ names have been changed to protect their privacy.)
But the most intriguing dog I’ve met is Ozzie, The Self-Walking Dog. Every day Ozzie’s owners open the front door and he trots down the steps. He turns right and walks a half-block to a park in the neighborhood. He does his thing and leaves the park, goes back to his house and up the steps. He does this every day. He doesn’t cross the street or do anything bad. He has remarkable self-discipline.
If his owners could figure out how to train other dogs to do this, they would become billionaires overnight.

Maybe Millionaires….I think they’d only become Billionaires if they also teach him to take a Glad bag along, clean up after himself and deposit it in a handy dumpster on the way home!

Girl, you need some comments! Well, here’s one: I like a self-walking dog. My easier. I’d also like to see a self pooper scoopering dog. Now that would be one low maintenance animal.

Yeah, I agree with Sanora and Stefanie. The collecting of poop still eludes little Ozzie.

This seems rather dangerous to me, don’t his owners know that there are leash laws in in Boston? He might trip up a jogger or something and someone’s feelings could get hurt.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Go Ozzie. More power to him.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a self-walking dog, that’s crazy. My dog can’t even be sane on a leash!

He also likes to chow TV remote control. I had to buy his owner new remote. Way to go strong jaw!! He also hung on to my husband jean so he could get air plane ride. Good old Ozzy.
