Today is the Chinese New Year
Each Wednesday a foodie friend of mine and I eat lunch at a different Asian restaurant in Boston’s Chinatown. Then we rate them. Yesterday, when we arrived at our chosen restaurant, no one was seated for lunch. Not a single person. We had forgotten, but it was Chinese New Year’s Eve yesterday. The whole time we ate, lots of Chinese locals came in to pick up take-out orders — a special chicken dish for their traditional New Year’s Eve feasts. There were also lots of people selling flowers for the new year on the streets of Chinatown. The Chinese New Year is the time when many family reunions happen and a lot of the celebrations involve feasting. Sounds like a holiday for me.

I love eating in Chinatown too! If you haven’t already I highly recommend
Vingh Sun BBQ, across from Tyler St. The food is delicious and the wait staff friendly. I always get the heaping bowl of wonton soup with extra wontons! Yummy!

Rising: The food was nice. This particular restaurant, called The Best Little Restaurant, offers very authentic Chinese food. Stuff like frog. We were more conservative in ordering our food, though.
Curious: I have been to Vingh BBQ. I like it!
