BloggingBoomers Carnival #68

I’m hosting the BloggingBoomers Carnival this week. Here are the delectable dishes we’ve got for you this week:

Mmm, Mmm, Good! Ron of I Remember JFK grew up in a two-income household long before it was fashionable. This meant that a kid was frequently expected to fend for himself, lunch-wise.

Did you know that 49% of Americans describe themselves as ‘thriving’ and 4% as ‘truly miserable’? LifeTwo has the details.

Janet Wendy Spiegel of Gen Plus rails against the falling power of the dollar bill.

Perhaps you read about the Torah hidden in Auschwitz that was recently restored. It spent a day in Don’t Gel Too Soon’s Cindy Samuels’ D.C. synagogue before moving to its new home in Manhattan. It was quite a day.

It’s hard to interpret the meaning of bad experiences immediately. They can sometimes turn out to be a godsend in the long run. The Midlife Crisis Queen ponders this scenario.

Heaven knows how easy it is to fall deep into a relationship rut, but how do you climb out? Here’s a thought or two for re-inventing love, from This Marriage Thing.

‘Retirement’ has become a dirty word, with more and more American retirees hesitating to describe themselves as ‘retired’, according to a recent article in the New York Times. If this makes you feel as uncomfortable as it makes Ann at Contemporary Retirement, then head over there now and have your say.

Huge floral prints are in full bloom this spring. Is this a look boomer women can wear, or will it just make you look like you are lost in the garden? Find out at Fabulous After 40.

Mannish jackets represent a real shift from girly dresses, and that’s what women executives are wearing as they climb the corporate ladder at work.

The Boomer Chronicles fears middle-age spread. Do you?

Wouldn’t you like to find baby boomer/senior information without being inundated with too much data thrown at you? Within the next 6 months you may discover a website which has preselected links to everything (but not too much) you want to know about retirement, financial planning, housing options, medical disorders, grandparenting, volunteering, employment opps, greener alternatives, clothes that fit, shoes which can be both attractive and comfortable, etc. Relief for your internet and real-life nightmares without popping any pills.
