The Miracle Spice that Fights Just About Every Disease
Alzheimer’s. Diabetes. Cancer. Arthritis. Did you know that a simple spice can help prevent these diseases? Turmeric, a staple in Indian cooking, is featured in curries, soups, and meat dishes, and is about as common in Indian cuisine as are salt and pepper in a Western diet. Curcumin — not to be confused with cumin — is the active chemical compound in tumeric. Asians have long used turmeric to treat various medical conditions. Researchers say that up to 12 grams of pure curcumin a day is non-toxic; one tablespoon of turmeric might contain up to a 1/4 gram of curcumin. Read about curcumin and diabetes, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. I’m lucky to live in an area that has a lot of Indian grocery stores. I’m headed there this weekend. If you don’t have Indian groceries near you, you can order turmeric online.

Suldog, it’s probably true. There are so many amazing plants on earth that have healing properties. Ancient cultures have a lot to teach us about how to use them.
