How to Avoid the Worst Nursing Homes
I will never have to put my aging parents into a nursing home because they both died many years ago. But I would be terrified if I had to find a place for them because I’ve heard so many horror stories. There are lots of rating systems out there to help you find a nursing home, and here’s one more. The U.S. government has just unveiled its brand-new Nursing Home Compare, which contains detailed information about every Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing home in the country. I tried it by plugging in my zip code and seeing what came up. I am familiar with some of these homes because my dog does pet therapy at some of these establishments. I agreed with some of these ratings. Anyway, for what it’s worth, here’s Nursing Home Compare.
