See This Great Film on Holocaust Survivors in the Catskills

I saw a great, new documentary called Four Seasons Lodge, which tells the story of a group of Holocaust survivors, now mostly in their 80s, who have gathered each summer at a lodge in the Catskills in upstate New York for the past 25 years. The gatherings provide camaraderie among the survivors, but it is not all heavy talk of concentration-camp memories. There is a lot of dancing, joy, humor, as well as whitefish and lounge singers. There’s also an intriguing subplot: the men who run the lodge can’t physically do the work anymore and threaten to sell the place. You won’t know until the very end what will happen to the site of the annual reunion.

The film has a limited run right now, but here is a screening schedule for Four Seasons Lodge to see if it will be playing near you. The Four Seasons Lodge trailer will give you a nice feel for the film.
