What Do You Think of My Idea for a New Blog?

I've Moved! The Boomer Chronicles has closed after 6 years, but you can keep up with me on my new blog at http://www.rheabecker.com

As a lark, I’m thinking of launching a new blog based on my dog. It would be called “What Would Sparky Do (WWSD).” You see, everything important in life I’ve learned from Sparky. He’s got high self-esteem, yet’s he not boastful. He’s confident, but not arrogant. He’s sweet, but not a pushover. He’s strong, but not a bully (well, not too often). He’s happy every day, but not in a Pollyanna-ish way. He’s handsome, but it hasn’t gone to his head. He sleeps when he’s tired, plays only when he feels like it, eats whenever he wants to. He loves people and leans on their legs to get affection. He’s flexible; for instance, he loves fancy food (organic kibble), but would probably gnaw on anything you put in front of him.

So I’m thinking the blog could be sort of an Ann Landers-type advice column. Readers would send in comments describing their problems and Sparky would respond.

    Rhea,

I think it is a wonderful idea… My thought is to start here as some of your readers are already acquainted with your wonderful pup:)

I read two blogs that feature their pups – one is the infamous Chet Baker and the other is Stewey. They are weaved in with the blog and while Chet has been infrequent as his Mom is busy during the Summer – the other frequently does his very own posts regarding his Mo-ther (as he writes it) and I adore both blogs.

Two blogs mean extra work… just my two cents tossed into the mix.

    Hi Rhea,

I’m still kicking, just not blogging. I love your idea!

Yes! Do it! Maggie Mae will read it and I’ll turn to the puppy prince when I don’t know what to do.

    LOVE THE IDEA!

I love my puppy’s great attitude toward life too. He’s like a little puppy Buddha, so wise and yet so very silly… He seems to have all the answers. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t waste so much time on the internet or thinking about all the silly things I entertain my brain with constantly. Hee Hee!!!

Go for it! -Laura Lee aka the Queen!

I remember posting here yesterday, but don’t see it now… anyway I vote yes! The writer, Dean Koontz had a dog, Trixie, who would write a blog post, it was hilarious from the perspective of the dog. Good Luck!

I like the WWSD idea. Or it could give advice. Ask Sparky. Readers could pose questions, and he could answer them.
    Have a wonderful summer, Rhea!

  9. Miss Grimke Says:

My cat has a lot of questions.

  10. Rhea Says:

Miss Grimke: Shoot me some of ‘em.

  11. Miss Grimke Says:

If your people for some stupid reason decide to let a new cat live in the house, what is the best way to get rid of it?

What do squirrels taste like? Are they worth the effort?

    Why is grass so delicious?

How can I keep from getting fur knots under my neck where I can’t reach?

  12. Rhea Says:

I love these questions, Miss Grimke!
