Baby Boomers Take Over the New York Times

Sex, antidepressants, anti-aging, and other topics of interest to baby boomers are covered in a special issue of the Sunday New York Times Magazine (May 6) on baby boomers. If you missed it yesterday, you can check it out online.

You can even watch clips from a film called Naked by Rachel Dretzin in which 10 older men and women discuss sex.

I’m depressed and my doctor won’t give me drugs. Do they talk about that? Or about my whining? I’m afraid to check out the old people sex. I might get more depressed.

  2. Rhea Says:

Nessa, your doctor should give you the drugs. Why not?! Yeah, the film clips I watched were, well, let’s just say you should skip that.

  3. Elaine Says:

I agree skip the videos! OMG old people sex at 50?? What are these people thinking? Nessa tell your doctor, better life through chemistry ;-)

  4. Sharon Says:

Haven’t watched it yet but headed there as soon as I’m done typing this!

  5. Hattie Says:

Yeah, I’m avoiding the old people sex film too. And the archived article about the old people who are probably all dead by now, visiting (also dead) New Orleans in the 90’s. Boy was THAT depressing!

  6. Rhea Says:

    Thanks for visiting, Elaine.
    Sharon: what did you think?

It seems as though people are just now realizing that we’re around AND that we actually think sex is fun! We’ve spent so many years hearing people say it was over after 40. The fact that I’m still craving it at 50 seems perfectly reasonable…. they had to call it something to make other people watch ;-)
